Project 9- Residential Development London

I joined the team on this ambitious development project in 2013. It was an entire rebuild converting a shop with flats above into a luxurious five storey family home. Planning required that the external shell and period features be retained, but internally we rebuilt completely. Excavating the basement and raising the parapet together with shuffling the floor levels allowed for a new level at the top. Some challenges included the vertical garden spanning the double height space between the basement and ground floors, concealing a cloakroom, wine cellar, study nook, pantry and utility room in the open plan basement, adding a dumb waiter from the basement kitchen through the upper floors, and all with an asymetric building. In the absense of an architect I was responsible for all aspects of design, together with assisting the owner in project managing the build.
